The Monologue of the Black Frog
african
Through philosophical monologues, symbolic storytelling and striking visual worlds, the Black Frog becomes an observer: watching, questioning and reflecting on the forces that shape who we become.
Drawing inspiration from African, Caribbean and Asian philosophy, mythology and visual culture, the series brings together recurring symbols such as the lotus, dragon, phoenix and Black Frog to explore the tension between darkness and light, destruction and renewal, silence and action.
Some stories are not meant to give you the answer.
They are meant to make you look inward.
