As the director of "The Monologue of the Black Frog: The Griots," my aim is to vividly bring the soul of African heritage to life through the profound art of storytelling. This project serves as a homage to the Griots—the esteemed custodians of our collective memory—who have preserved and passed down tales of empires, warriors, and ancient wisdom through the ages. This endeavor is deeply personal for me. It represents an exploration of my roots and culture, and a resonant call to safeguard what is often overlooked in the rush of modern life. As ancestral wisdom risks obscurity, it is imperative to preserve the invaluable teachings that forge our identity and humanity. "The Griots" is designed not merely as a narrative but as a bridge connecting past and present. Through a blend of blogs and videos, this project honors the legacy of those who came before us, aiming to rekindle their voices within us. My hope is for audiences to feel the power of our oral traditions, to immerse themselves in the rhythm of our history, and to discover personal reflections and insights within these timeless stories.
